This is according to a data report, titled Insights into India’s Cricket Frenzy, released by UCWeb, a business within Alibaba Mobile Business Group. More than 50% of the country’s population logged on to the UCWeb platforms over the last 3 months for cricket scores and updates.

Cricket makes up for 68% of all sports-related content consumed on UC News. On a daily basis, over 3 million cricket fans checked into the UC Platform to consume cricket-related content, clocking in 7 million hours of cumulative content reading – a jump of 230% from last year. UC Platform saw maximum traction from the cities of Lucknow, Pune, Bhopal and Delhi and Mumbai. UC Cricket, a key component within UC Browser, was first introduced in 2013 to offer news and updates about cricket matches. It has now evolved to become a comprehensive cricket content platform. For the latest cricket season, UC News, content and news distribution platform of UCWeb, introduced a special section to offer comprehensive news and cricket-related content for the users.

The IPL Final was the most watched match of the IPL season with 21 million views and Kolkata Knight Riders emerged as the Most Popular Team of IPL 2017, followed by Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils. Captain of the National Cricket team, Virat Kohli remains the most popular player, clocking readership of over 32 million across 4600 articles. Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khar were the other top-read cricketers.

Shravan Kummar– A sheer love for the traditional textiles and passion for working with craft clusters helped me to witness a rare, dying and endangered craft of making a “pachedi” which is a canopy for the mother goddess is totally sustainable, eco-friendly and hand painted with vegetable dyes which is offered to the goddess to fulfill its purpose.

Soutache by Designer Gourika Sharma– The colours used are  cool blues, shades of sand, pristine whites and the pale florals of a spring garden. The fabrics are fine linen, linen blends, silk and textured cotton – specially crafted for this collection. The blue outfits are highlighted with pintucks, hand worked ladders and tie dye patterns inspired by Shibori.

Muskaan Aggarwal– The intricate carvings from the doors of the Awadhi architecture coming alive on silk in the form of detailed embroidery crafted by skilled artisans on the most celebrated garments worn by the contemporary Indian women eminent usage of zardozi work along with gota patti and pita work is done on the garments to make them stand out. The three-day Ambience Spring Carnival drew to a close yesterday evening amidst much fanfare at the Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj. The carnival was hosted by Ambience that showcased the best in entertainment, music and live performances. Spring carnival drew one of the largest crowds the events ever saw on weekends and ended on a very successful note.

The spring carnival offered a vast array of delights ranging from street food to refreshing shakes and ice creams. Spectacular “Hunar Haat “showcasing rich & exquisite skills with Awesome Regional Cuisines

Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today inaugurated the second edition of “ Hunar Haat “, being organized by Minority Affairs Ministry to encourage, promote and provide national and international market to master artisans / craftsmen belonging to the Minority communities from across the country.        

In an attempt to provide a platform to the minorities under one roof, artisans and craft persons is all set to showcase their work at the “Hunar Haat” to be organised by Ministry of Minority Affairs. The Event will be held from February 11 to 26 at the prestigious Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place.

The “Hunar Haat” is being organized through National Minorities Development & finance corporation (NMDFC) under USTTAD (Upgrading the Skills & Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development) scheme of the ministry of minority affairs.

Announcing this, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State holding independent charge of Minority Affairs, said the theme would be Craft Aur Cuisine Ka Sangam.

A total of 100 artisans and 30 culinary experts will participate at about 130 stalls in the “Hunar Haat” in Delhi, which will also have a “Ustaadon Ka Bawarchi khaana” where various cuisines from different parts of the country will be showcased. The selected artisans include several Awardees from 5 minority communities.

The famed  Makrana marble products, Bandhej from Sikar, Mojri from Rajasthan, Banjara embroidery from Telangana, handmade locks and door handles along with Phool Patti works from Aligarh, Cocoon decorated products from Nagaland and Mizoram Traditional Crafts among others would be on display and sale.Cuisines from 15 states will include  Awadhi Mughlai foods from Lucknow, Dal Bati Churma and Thali from Rajasthan, Sandesh and Rasogolla from West Bengal, Malabari food from Kerala, Litti Choka from Bihar.

This is seen as an attempt to provide a platform under one roof to artisans and craft persons from the minority communities, to demonstrate, showcase and sell their products. In the long term the government plans to set-up “Hunar Hubs” in different states
