India finds the Ultimate Bartender Paramveer Singh wins the Ultimate Bartender Championship by Monkey Shoulder 

Monkey Shoulder, a scotch for the new generation of whisky aficionados, brings the ‘Ultimate Bartender Championship’ to India.  This competition journeyed across the country challenging bartending ‘skills that pay the bills.’

The India leg of the Championship, which began in Kolkata moved on to the cities of Hyderabad, Goa, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Delhi. This year, the competition had participation from over 250contestants tested on their unique techniques, insights, speed and skills behind the bar. Bartenders got a chance to showcase bartending skills of industry knowledge, hospitality, pouring, nosing and stocktaking

Paramveer Singh won the India Grand Finale of the Ultimate Bartender Championship by Monkey Shoulder held at Paparazzi, New Delhi today. The event was hosted by Joe Petch; Monkey Shoulder’s Global Brand Ambassador. The competition brought together the most talented bartenders of India with a showcase of their prowess and art of bartending. Commenting on his win Paramveer Singh said, “I’m very excited to win this prestigious industry competition, especially when you have the best of the best from the industry to compete with! This is such an extra-ordinary initiative by Monkey Shoulder to get the most talented bartenders of the country to test their skills in this Grand Finale of Ultimate Bartender Championship in India.”  

As the national winner of the grand finale, Paramveer has gained a coveted place in the world’s most prestigious Cocktail event, Tales of the Cocktail, at New Orleans with an all expenses paid trip. The two runners up, Chirag Pal and Jitender Singh will go to Camp Monkey to be held at Seville, Spain for an education and engagement program by Monkey Shoulder.

Shravan Kummar– A sheer love for the traditional textiles and passion for working with craft clusters helped me to witness a rare, dying and endangered craft of making a “pachedi” which is a canopy for the mother goddess is totally sustainable, eco-friendly and hand painted with vegetable dyes which is offered to the goddess to fulfill its purpose.

Soutache by Designer Gourika Sharma– The colours used are  cool blues, shades of sand, pristine whites and the pale florals of a spring garden. The blue outfits are highlighted with pintucks, hand worked ladders and tie dye patterns inspired by Shibori.

Muskaan Aggarwal– The intricate carvings from the doors of the Awadhi architecture coming alive on silk in the form of detailed embroidery crafted by skilled artisans on the most celebrated garments worn by the contemporary Indian women eminent usage of zardozi work along with gota patti and pita work is done on the garments to make them stand out. ​EPIC Channel – Celebrating Rabindranath Tagore’s Birthday 

EPIC to celebrate Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday by telecasting four stories adapted to the small screen by renowned director Anurag Basu.

To celebrate the birthday of polymath Rabindranath Tagore, EPIC channel will telecast four of his stories on 7 May 2017. These stories have been adapted to the screen by acclaimed director Anurag Basu. 

This especially curated programming of the channel’s widely appreciated show Stories By Rabindranath Tagore has been scheduled from 2pm – 5pm and 8pm – 11pm. The afternoon slot will telecast back-to-back episodes of the popular story Chokher Bali. Evening slot will air three different stories – Kabuliwala, Detective and Aparichita. 

The stories bring to life the timeless characters created by Gurudev and have been exceptionally portrayed by renowned actors like Radhika Apte and Abigain Jain in lead roles.
