Cycling rally for cancer awareness kids by “Mantan- A Fitness Lounge at The Gallery on MG.”

New Delhi, Saturday, 28th November, 2015: Cycling rally was organised by Mantan, a fitness lounge to promote its initiative towards Cancer Awareness among Kids. The associate sponsors were Volvo & Medanta and event was supported by IAAPI & Walk in India.

Around 50 cyclists from Cyclofit Group participated in the rally that was flagged off at The Gallery on MG Mall, extended over a 10 km stretch, and returned back at the venue.

Volvo cars followed the cycles of the student volunteers, closely guiding them through traffic.

Fund raised from the event was  Rs. 50,000 in cash and various products under “Walk in India” banner brands like Shimy Shimy, Flinx and Swati Modo sold and raised 1 lakh towards the cause.

In India, 50,000 children are diagnosed with cancer annually. However, a little known fact is that 70% to 95% childhood cancers are curable if detected early.

While addressing the Press Conference, Mr. Gagan Deep Khajotia GM at Mantan- a fitness lounge said, “We initiated this with an aim to spread awareness about Cancer and also to motivate people to have a healthy lifestyle. Also, once should visit the doctor and get proper body check-up once in year for a healthy living“

Ms. Alka from IAAPI said “There is an alarming surge of people afflicted with cancer in our country and as a nation; I believe we are lagging far behind in facilitating physical and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.”

Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon and Artree has launched Art Walk – an exclusive platform for emerging artists to showcase their creativity via paintings and caricature on November 20, 2015. The day witnessed the launch of the Art Walk initiative in association with six participating artists and the unveiling of their creations. Hotel has provided a setting for six artists to explore the limits of the creative expression, presentation and interpretation of various art forms. Each artist chosen has a distinct and different style of work and expression from each other. The show curated by Pragati Agarwal’s , an art lover and a curator.

The first month of exhibition will start with Radhika Surana,done Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Rajasthan.She believes that formal training and learning of techniques is extremely important and helpful as it provides pointers to help in the creation of work of art which is eventually given life through an artist’s feeling.

The second month will have creations by Sparsh kumar , Studied art at College of Art (Delh), Sparsh loves to play with moods and features of an individual, to delight and not to offend through his caricatures.

The third month will witness the creations by Uma Bardhan, expresses her work on multiple aspects related to Mother Nature. She is amongst very few artists who use a rare medium “Water Color on Silk” on her creativity.




The fourth month will witness creations by Shradha Bhatia from Gurgaon- a young artist graduated from Delhi University- her line of art will highlight the visions of Buddha and the paintings of birds .

The fifth month will witness creations by Rashmi Jamwal, A self- taught artist, with practice spanning over a decade in various mediums, hails from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Constant source of inspiration have been the myriad cultural hues, people , ancient mythsinto contemporary art form and places visited.

The sixth and the final month of the Art Walk will have creations by Aman Sekhon, Born in Nainital and went to Hansraj college delhi university. Is a self taught artist who loves painting landscapes and abstract forms and figures.

“ASCENSION” An Ode to Expression And Movement


 New Delhi November 2015 : Artist Rashmi Sikand Yadav,  displayed her renditions of expression and movement through her Art show  “Ascension” at the India Habitat Centre, Open Palms court, New Delhi from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from 25 -26 November 2015. .

Her paintings, using a unique aesthetic vocabulary of linear gesture textures and forms with dense layering create an illusion of energy. The splashes and splatter, drips and pours of paint  enliven or anchor each piece work in tandem to influence the human experience.


While announcing Ascension Mrs Yadav said “I work spontaneously on creating emotional impact of colours, texture, light, atmospheric condition and composition of ground and space” said Ms Yadav while talking about her works, My abstract landscapes are interpretations of what I see around me. The series is about expression and movement”.


Talking about the collection Mrs Yadav Continued “Rhythm, pattern and process are a fitting description for the paintings that i make. Each of my abstract acrylic paintings explores expressive linear gestures, mark- making, unique textures and layering which often creates the illusion of energy, movement and space”.

For her it is imagery filled with an intensity of atmosphere that she would like the viewer to be an insider. Her pieces should attract and make one want to know more of where it started, where it’s going. The viewer’s curiosity moves her and her work takes flight.


About Rashmi Sikand Yadav

A self-taught artist Rashmi Sikand Yadav is a promising artist  proficient in two water based mediums, the Acrylic on canvas works display a liberal use of vibrant colour and multiple layering techniques. She does not use an easel, but instead lay the stretched canvas on a table in her studio, constantly moving it around, working from each side and angle until the painting is complete. Working in this manner allows her the freedom to engage in the piece in its entirety and not just from one perspective. Using layers of paint applied with her hands as well as numerous tools, adds to the physicality of her process and helps her connect with the composition.

Ascension is an amalgamation of abstract acrylic paintings exploring expressive linear gestures, mark- making, unique textures and layering which often creates the illusion of energy, movement and space.
