At the event Mr. Raju Dabhade, Inventor, Roll Ball explained to the media, how even after becoming an international game invented in India, the sport is not famous like other games. So far, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has already recognized us. We are sure we will soon be widely recognized across India as we already have had a good response in other countries in Europe and Middle East”

Speaking to the media at the event, Mr. Gaurav Gore, CEO, Miracle Epic, says, “We always see international games creating a benchmark in India and attracting heavy audience. IPL, PRO Kabaddi, Football league, CCL, Badminton League, Tennis League are few games which have become tremendously famous and showing a flamboyant image to youth. This year, after Cricket World Cup and IPL Season 8, India is all set to deliver Roll Ball World Cup Season – 3 on a large scale for the first time. Roll ball has done 2 World Cups successfully in Pune and Kenya with 30 countries. This is the first time India will host 50 countries at the same time for one game.”

Raju Dabhade’s Journey

Raju Dabhade used to deliver newspapers on roller skates. He rose through the ranks in roller speed skating and later, after retiring from competitive skating, became a physical education teacher. However, the competitive edge never left him. He set his sights on creating an all-new sport, something that would “make a name for India, a game born in India that will be the pride of India’s sports identity. The idea for roll ball came to him one afternoon in 2003 when an errant basketball interrupted his skating instruction. Roller-skating on old school quads is still popular in India and ball sports are always well liked. Therefore, he decided to combine the two.

The Indian Olympic Association recognized the sport in 2006. By then Dabhade had spread it not only around India, but internationally as well. He used his own money from the sale of his ancestral land to finance trips abroad to introduce the sport and establish teams in places as distant and diverse as Kenya and Belarus. It worked so well that it was a Danish team, and not an Indian team, that won the initial world cup.

Raju Dabhade was awarded the “Raja Mantri Puraskar’’ by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr.. Vilasrao Deshmukh on 19th December 2005, for his contribution towards Roll ball and Roller skating. He shared his idea with colleagues in MES Balshikshan Mandir English Medium School, Kothrud,Pune, where he is a sport teacher. His colleagues supported his idea whole-heartedly and helped him setting up the Basic and Technical Rules and Regulations for this new game.

OYSTERS BEACH – Paradise in Water

Some of us are lucky enough to live within a rogue inflatable ball’s reach of the world’s best beaches. Some of us can paddle out for a ride on the greatest waves on a whim.

For those of us who live farther inland, or prefer something less salty, there are still watery joys to be had, in the form of the water parks. Summer is officially upon us. For most of us, the word conjures up images of hill stations, sipping chilled sodas and lemonades, and sweltering hot days spent bathing 3-4 times. For thrill seekers, sometimes the best part of summer is the feeling of plummeting down a waterslide into a chlorinated wonderland.

In the evenings the beach becomes an entertainment hub where one can dine and tap a foot on music with friends late into the night.

Had really good food at the Low Tide restaurant, which offers continental, Indian, oriental and mix of cuisines. Beautiful ambiance, of being in the middle of the wave pools. It has big glass windows on all sides giving a 180 degree view on both sides. Food offered is fresh with wide range of salads, sandwiches, cold cuts as well as main course like lamb rogan josh, chicken dishes, fish (oriental preparation) rice, breads and pasta too. They serve starters like chilli chicken, manchurian etc on the table itself. This whole spread is very reasonably priced at Rs.599/- A.I. and 399/- for children.

The children enjoy the most, with unending slides and water activity options. We also loved the crazy/lazy river which is just floating on the tube relaxing under the open sky.
